Royal British Shorthair Warranty

Below is a copy of our full warranty. If you are interested in one of our kittens, you must agree to all the terms below.

BREEDER (Royal British Shorthair) AGREES:

Breeder guarantees that each kitten has received proper care to date and has been examined by a licensed veterinarian. Health and vaccination records will be provided at the time of purchase. If a kitten is being shipped, copies of the vaccination and deworming records will be included with the shipment.

If, within 72 hours of receiving a kitten under 16 weeks old or within one week of receiving a kitten over 16 weeks old, the buyer has the kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian and the kitten is found to be at serious risk of euthanasia or death due to a congenital defect (present at birth), the buyer must notify the breeder immediately. A written statement from the examining veterinarian describing the condition must be provided, and the kitten along with its registration papers must be returned to the breeder within three (3) days of the examination. The breeder will either replace the kitten or issue a full refund of the purchase price (excluding shipping fees).

This guarantee does not cover common or treatable conditions such as parasites (worms, fleas, mites, coccidia, giardia), upper respiratory infections, or other minor illnesses. The breeder assumes no responsibility for veterinary or shipping expenses.

The breeder is not responsible if the kitten contracts any communicable disease after 72 hours of leaving the breeder’s possession.

Breeder guarantees the kitten against any congenital defect causing death or requiring euthanasia until the kitten reaches 2 years of age. If the buyer continues to feed the kitten with the recommended diet (e.g., Life’s Abundance or Royal Canin) and provides proof of continued use through autoshipping, the health guarantee will be extended to 3 years. If a qualifying congenital issue occurs, the breeder will either replace the kitten or refund the full purchase price (minus shipping and training fees). The breeder will not cover any veterinary bills.

Breeder does not guarantee color, size, eye shade, coat pattern, or temperament of any kitten.

Training Clause:
Fluffy Hearts Ragdolls promises to provide proper early socialization and foundational litter, scratching, and handling training for each kitten, along with guidance and resources to help new owners continue training at home. However, the breeder cannot guarantee continued behavioral outcomes, as long-term success depends on the owner’s care and consistency. Please note that training is not part of the health warranty, which only covers congenital and hereditary health conditions.

To Be Covered by This Guarantee, the Following Conditions Must Apply:

  • The kitten must be owned by the original buyer named in this agreement. This guarantee is non-transferable to any subsequent owner.

  • In the unfortunate event of the sudden death of the kitten, the breeder must receive written notification from the buyer’s licensed veterinarian, along with a necropsy report indicating the exact cause of death.

  • We strongly recommend that the buyer continue providing the kitten with a daily nutritional supplement such as NuVet Plus to help strengthen the immune system, promote healthy skin and coat, and protect against various diseases.

  • We also highly recommend feeding the kitten Royal Canin Kitten, Life’s Abundance, or another premium-quality cat food. Kittens should remain on a kitten formula until around 12 months of age, then transition to an appropriate adult formula.

  • Buyers who consistently feed their kitten the recommended food through autoshipping will receive an extended health warranty from 1 year to 3 years.

BUYER AGREES:

  • To have the kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of purchase if the kitten is under 16 weeks of age, or within 1 week of purchase if the kitten is over 16 weeks of age, to confirm the kitten’s good health.

  • The kitten is being purchased as a personal companion only, not for resale, and will never be sold, traded, or given to a pet shop, kitten mill, or agent thereof.

  • Buyer agrees not to register the kitten under any other pet registry besides those approved by Royal British Shorthair.

  • Buyer agrees to provide annual veterinary checkups, maintain all recommended vaccinations, and ensure proper veterinary care throughout the kitten’s life.

  • Buyer agrees to spay or neuter their kitten between 6–12 months of age (unless otherwise agreed in writing for a breeding contract). No litters may be produced by this kitten unless a separate breeding agreement is signed. Proof of spay/neuter may be required.

  • Buyer agrees to provide a safe, clean, and loving indoor environment for the kitten. British Shorthair are strictly indoor cats and should never be allowed to roam freely outdoors. Proper nutrition, grooming, and enrichment must be provided in accordance with high-quality animal care standards.

  • The value of the kitten for the purpose of this agreement is limited to the original purchase price, excluding any costs such as shipping, training, or additional declared values.

  • If the buyer is ever unable or unwilling to keep their kitten for any reason, the kitten must be returned to Royal British Shorthair. The buyer agrees not to surrender the kitten to an animal shelter, rescue group, or third party without written permission from the breeder.

  • Buyer agrees to feed the kitten a high-quality diet (such as Royal Canin Kitten, Life’s Abundance, or a comparable premium brand). Participation in autoshipping or proof of consistent use of the recommended food may be required to maintain the health warranty.

  • Any refunds issued under this agreement due to a qualifying warranty claim will only be processed after a Non-Disparagement Agreement is signed by the buyer.

  • This agreement shall be deemed consummated in the county of Franklin, Ohio, and shall be governed by the laws of the State of Ohio. In the event of any legal dispute, the venue shall lie in Columbus, Ohio. Breeder (Royal British Shorthair) shall not be responsible for any legal, veterinary, or transportation costs related to this process.

LIMITATIONS OF GUARANTEE

This guarantee is non-transferable and applies only to the original buyer named in this agreement. The kitten must be in good physical condition at the time a claim is made. No replacement will be given if the kitten has been bred, mistreated, or neglected. All medical verifications must be completed by a licensed veterinarian. The buyer is responsible for all transportation costs to and from the breeder. The breeder assumes no responsibility for any veterinary expenses incurred for returned or replaced kittens.

THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS WILL VOID ALL GUARANTEES:

  1. Allowing the kitten to become obese or underweight at any time.

    • Underweight: Ribs or spine are sharply visible.

    • Ideal Condition: Ribs can be felt but not seen; kitten has a defined waist.

    • Overweight: No visible waist; abdomen appears rounded or sagging.

  2. Evidence of neglect, abuse, or poor living conditions.

  3. Previous injury or trauma (e.g., broken bones, falls, or accidents).

  4. Breeding the kitten or allowing it to reproduce, unless a separate breeding contract was signed.

  5. Excessive physical stress or unsafe environment, such as forcing the kitten into strenuous activity, unsupervised outdoor roaming, or exposure to harmful conditions (e.g., extreme temperatures, unsafe surfaces, or unsupervised young children).

  6. Failure to feed a high-quality diet such as Royal Canin Kitten, Life’s Abundance, or another approved premium brand (required for final-year warranty extension with autoshipping).

  7. Failure to continue recommended supplements (e.g., NuVet Plus or other approved feline vitamins) through autoshipping during the final year of the extended warranty.
